Hi everyone! I’m excited to announce that Temerity is no longer Discontinued! I’m working hard to get the next chapter made so we can continue the journey of Naia and Taeru. I’ve been going out of my mind keeping this to myself, but I didn’t want to announce this until I was 100% sure this was going to happen.
Because Chad is no longer part of the project, Temerity is going to go through some pretty massive changes. The art style is going to change drastically as Chad has a very unique style.
The exact art style that Temerity will be changed to is still up in the air as I’m still scouting for the perfect artist, but it’s likely to switch to a more streamlined anime/manga style. Manga is generally cheaper and faster to create, and because I’m paying for the art out of my own pocket, getting something in my price-range is important. Plus, I’ve always loved the anime art style and when I was first writing Temerity that was the art style I pictured it being in.
So what’s the deal with the date of December 2024? I know that seems like a long time, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done before Temerity can come back. Including new character design sheets, prepping the script for the new chapter, designing all new characters, environments, and ships. I want to make sure I give myself plenty of time to get everything ready without sacrificing Eldair or my personal life. (Chronic illness, remember?)
Currently I plan to re-upload the first 2 chapters with some edits as well as possible added scenes. It will stay as Chad’s art though. His work is really beautiful and he dedicated a lot of time into the project. I want to honor that by keeping his art in-tact for the first two issues.
I do hope that the art style change won’t be too jarring for readers though!
I know that going on a two year hiatus without any notice as to what was going on was unprofessional and very frustrating. I know that probably ruined a lot of trust. There was just things that were happening that left me in a spot where I couldn’t say anything, or didn’t know WHAT to say. It was a very hard time for my health, my family, and in things regarding Temerity.
But I do hope that you’ll give me another chance to regain that trust and read Temerity when it relaunches.
I’ll be honest. The future of Temerity is fragile. I’m not doing the art myself, which means I’m paying someone else to do it. Things could go wrong. The artist I get might be unreliable. I may have to switch artists a number of times. I might run out of money and it might have to go on hiatus again. I can’t see the future, but I’m doing to do everything in my power to make it as successful as I can. But in reality, Temerity’s success lies with you, the fans.
It will be your support in sharing, backing, and reading that will allow me to continue this project! So I hope that when Temerity relaunches you’ll be there to enjoy it!
